Connect SEOmatic to Zapier, Make and n8n, and what each plan allows

A trial counts when a card is on file. If your plan is paused, or your trial or plan ends because a payment was not fixed, automations stop until billing is active again. Compare plans on the pricing page.
Changes still follow your approval rules
When an automation creates tasks, SEOmatic stages them for approval like any other task. One action is different: Decide SEO Task (Zapier) and decide_seo_task (Make and n8n) approve or dismiss for you. Keep a person in that step, for example a Slack or email approval.
Connect Zapier#
- In Zapier, add a step and search for SEOmatic.
- Click Connect. An SEOmatic page opens in a new window.
- Pick your site in Workspace to connect and click Approve. You never paste a key.
- Back in Zapier, pick a trigger, search or action and build your Zap.
Only workspaces on a paid plan or trial appear on the approve page. If you have none, the page shows Zapier needs a paid plan or a trial and Approve is greyed out. Every trigger, search and action is listed in the Zapier guide.
Connect Make#
- Create an API key in SEOmatic. See create and manage API keys. Tick Allow this key to make changes only if your scenario needs to change things.
- Copy the key. It is shown only once.
- Open the SEOmatic app invite link from the Make guide while signed in to Make, and install the app in your organization. The app is not listed in Make's app directory, so the link is the only way in.
- In a scenario, add an SEOmatic module and create a connection. Paste your key.
- Use Run a tool to run any SEOmatic tool your key allows.
The Make app has no trigger. To start a scenario when something happens in SEOmatic, use Zapier or n8n instead.
Connect n8n#
- Create an API key in SEOmatic, as in create and manage API keys, and copy it.
- In n8n, open Settings > Community nodes, click Install and enter
n8n-nodes-seomatic. Only an n8n owner or admin can do this. - Add the SEOmatic node to a workflow and create a new credential. Paste your key.
- Pick an operation and run the workflow.
The node installs on self-hosted n8n only. On n8n Cloud, use Zapier or Make, or call the REST API from n8n's HTTP Request node. The SEOmatic Trigger needs the Infrastructure plan and a public https address for your n8n. Details are in the n8n guide.
See what your automations did#
In Settings > AI Agents > API Keys, click Show automation log. It lists the last 30 days of Events sent to your Zaps and webhooks, and the Calls from your automations. A call marked Refused (plan or limit) was blocked by your plan or a rate limit.
Fix common errors#

- How do I disconnect Zapier?
- Open Settings > AI Agents > API Keys and click the trash icon on the Zapier row. Zaps that use it stop working right away.
- What happens to my automations if I downgrade or cancel?
- Below Infrastructure, steps that make changes are refused and reads keep working. On the Free plan, or if billing lapses, Zapier, Make and n8n stop until you have an active plan again.
- Do automations use my credits?
