Requirements

How to Connect Wix with SEOmatic
SEOmatic connects to your Wix site in one click, then goes to work on the posts and pages you already have.
Step 1: In SEOmatic, go to Connections, select Wix and click Connect with Wix.
Step 2: Approve the SEOmatic app's permissions on Wix. (Prefer an API key? Generate one on your Wix account API Keys page with Manage Blog, Manage Ricos Document and Manage SEO Settings, and paste it with your site URL and Site ID instead.)

Which parts of my Wix site can agents edit?
Your blog posts: agents write new ones in full and fix the titles, descriptions, slugs and canonical tags of the ones you already published. When an existing post's body needs work, the rewrite is written into the post and published, but only after SEOmatic confirms that every image, video and embed comes through unchanged and that the previous version can be put back exactly. A post Wix cannot convert and restore that precisely, such as one with a poll, a gallery or a map, gets the rewrite as text to paste instead. A post that is still a draft, or has unpublished edits made in Wix, is left alone. Your regular pages, the ones built in the editor: agents set their SEO title, meta description, canonical, noindex and structured data, and confirm each change on the live page. The design and text of those pages have no API, so that part stays yours; agents tell you what to change there. If you have unpublished SEO edits waiting on a page, agents leave that page alone rather than publishing your draft along with their change.
Will editing the meta mess up my post layout?
No, and this is worth explaining because it is where Wix integrations usually go wrong. Wix stores post bodies in its own rich-text format rather than HTML. When an agent changes only a title or description, only that field is sent, so the body is never converted, reflowed or touched. A body rewrite on a post you already published is written in place only when Wix can convert the post and convert it back without losing anything: text, headings, links, images and embeds. After publishing, SEOmatic reads the live post, and if it does not show the new text, the previous version goes back. Posts that fail that check get the rewrite as text to paste.
Will it wipe my other SEO settings?
No. Wix replaces the entire SEO block whenever anything in it is written, which is how tools accidentally erase a canonical tag while updating a meta description. SEOmatic reads what is there first and merges the change into it, so everything you did not ask to change survives.
Can agents set noindex or schema markup?
On your regular pages, yes: noindex and structured data go into Wix's own SEO settings for the page, and each is checked on the live page before it counts as applied. Your own structured data and robots settings are kept. On blog posts and store products Wix does not accept them through the API, so there the agent writes the exact change and hands it to you. Canonical tags work everywhere, so agents set them directly.
What stops it doing the things other AI SEO tools get accused of?
Those complaints are specific, so the answers are too. It will not quietly replace metadata you were happy with: you see the before and after and approve it. It will not set pages to noindex behind your back: a noindex is a change you approve like any other, and on blog posts Wix does not allow it at all. It will not strip anything if you disconnect. And it will not claw back its work if you cancel, because everything it wrote is an ordinary post in your own Wix site.
What if the agent makes a change I do not like?
Every edit stores the previous values before it writes, so a change goes back to what it was in one click. The agent starts in approval mode, so by default you see each change before it is applied, and posts you mark as protected keep waiting for your yes. One honest limit: restoring a field that was previously empty is handed to you rather than applied automatically, because Wix treats an empty value as leave alone rather than clear.
Wix has its own AI SEO tools now. Why use this?
Wix helps you as you write. Agents work on what you already published, which is where the traffic you are losing actually lives: reading your Search Console every week, finding the posts slipping, and fixing them. They also cover whatever else you run, so a Wix blog and a store on another platform are held to one standard rather than two.
What happens to the work if I cancel?
