Inside the AI Visibility Skill
The Short Answer
The SEOmatic AI visibility skill teaches an AI agent to review how your brand shows up in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok and Google AI Overviews, using SEOmatic's stored scans for free. It lists the buyer questions where you were missed and who appeared instead, checks that the tracked questions still match your business, and tunes them. It only runs a new paid scan when you ask after hearing the cost. SEOmatic can stage content and citation fixes, and nothing goes live until you click approve.
What You Get
Visibility per engine, the top missed questions with who won them, and two or three content or citation moves.

Install the Skill
One command installs it in Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and other agents that read Agent Skills. By default, nothing changes on your site until you approve it. A fix is staged as a proposal that says what will change and why. Approved fixes run within seconds, the page's previous state is stored, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. A rollback refuses to overwrite edits someone made since. Changes that could take a page out of Google, like a noindex, need an extra confirmation.

Does reading my AI visibility cost credits?
No. Reading the stored scan is free. Only a fresh scan uses AI credits, and the skill runs one only when you ask after it names the cost.
Can it get me cited by ChatGPT?
It finds the questions you miss and the sources AI engines cite, and suggests content and citation moves. No one can guarantee a placement, and the skill does not promise one.
Is the AI Visibility skill free?
The skill is free and open source (MIT). Connecting is free with no card. Search Console reports, page checks and 30-page site audits are free, as often as you like. Live market data (keyword volumes, competitors, backlinks) uses free questions: 5 a month, plus a one-time 10 when you connect Search Console, and one question covers up to 5 lookups. Staging and publishing fixes is part of paid plans, which start with a 14-day trial.
