SEOmatic is operated from Paris, France, and built by a bootstrapped French company — the GDPR is our home law, not a foreign compliance exercise. For your account and visit data we are the data controller. For the website data you connect (your sites or your clients' sites), we are a data processor acting on your instructions.
If you are visiting from the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, no analytics cookie is set until you say yes. You saw (or will see) a small banner with equal Accept and Decline buttons; declining is one click and the site works identically. We run no advertising cookies for anyone, anywhere.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and you can withdraw any consent at any time. One email to contact@seomatic.ai exercises any of them — we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your supervisory authority; in France that is the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Our default writing model is operated by Moonshot AI, whose infrastructure is hosted in China. Mark a workspace EU-sensitive (Settings → Agent → Data Residency) and every AI call for it runs on Anthropic instead — enforced in code at the model-routing chokepoint, not by policy alone, and guarded by tests. These calls run on your own Anthropic API key (Anthropic bills you directly; you confirm this explicitly when enabling, and your confirmation is recorded), which also means your content is processed under your own agreement with Anthropic. The full list of AI providers and every other subprocessor is published on our Trust Center.
We are transparent about this rather than vague: our infrastructure is hosted in the United States (Hetzner and AWS). For personal data of EU/EEA and UK users, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an applicable adequacy framework with each subprocessor. Data you delete leaves production systems within 30 days, with encrypted backups expiring within 90.
Our standard GDPR Article 28 DPA is published at seomatic.ai/dpa — processing scope, sub-processor authorisation, security measures, breach notice, deletion windows, SCCs, and audit rights, all cross-referencing the Trust Center so what you sign matches what the product does.
