Inside the Traffic Drop Diagnosis Skill
The Short Answer
The SEOmatic traffic drop skill teaches an AI agent to diagnose a fall in organic traffic from your real Google Search Console data. It first checks 16 months of history to rule out a seasonal dip, finds the day the drop started, breaks the loss down by site section, page and query, inspects indexing on the biggest losers, and checks whether a search feature or competitor took the clicks. It ends with one verdict and fixes ranked by clicks recovered. SEOmatic can stage those fixes, and nothing goes live until you click approve.

By default, nothing changes on your site until you approve it. A fix is staged as a proposal that says what will change and why. Approved fixes run within seconds, the page's previous state is stored, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. A rollback refuses to overwrite edits someone made since. Changes that could take a page out of Google, like a noindex, need an extra confirmation.

Can it tell whether a Google update caused the drop?
It can tell you whether the timing and pattern fit one, and it says so as a hypothesis. It does not blame an update without evidence, because most drops have a cause on the site itself, like a noindex or a changed page.
What if the drop happened in the last two days?
Search Console data lags two to three days. The skill reads SEOmatic's fresh, provisional numbers for the last 48 hours and says they may still change.
Is the Traffic Drop Diagnosis skill free?
