Connect HubSpot, Ghost, BigCommerce, Framer, Blogger, Sanity, Contentful and more
Updated
Rows marked Beta work today and are newer. For a side-by-side view of what each platform allows, see what your agents can change on each platform.
HubSpot (Beta)#
- On the HubSpot row, click Add Connection, then Connect with HubSpot.
- Sign in to HubSpot, pick your account and approve. You land back with a green Active status.
- Plan: blog access needs Content Hub Starter or higher, or Marketing Hub Professional or higher.
- Changes: blog posts are fully edited (title, text, URL, SEO title, description, canonical, noindex, structured data). Website and landing pages get SEO fields only, because their text is built from modules. Redirects apply with one click.
- New articles wait for a blog choice. Connecting does not ask which blog to use. Until one is chosen, agent articles stay ready. To choose it, ask SEO Copilot to write an article and click Publish to HubSpot under it. That also publishes the article.
- Already have a private app token? You can paste it under or paste an existing private app token. It needs the content scope.
Ghost#
- In Ghost admin, open Settings, then Integrations, and click Add custom integration. Name it SEOmatic.
- Copy the Admin API key and the API URL shown on that page. Use the Admin API key, not the Content API key.
- In SEOmatic, on the Ghost row, click Add Connection. Paste the API URL (like yoursite.ghost.io) and the Admin API Key, then click Connect.
You need Administrator access and Ghost 5.0 or later. Your agents edit titles, text, URLs, SEO titles and descriptions, canonical, social tags and structured data on posts and pages, and publish new posts. Noindex and redirects come as text to paste. If you see Invalid Admin API key format, you pasted the Content API key.
BigCommerce (Beta)#
- In BigCommerce admin, go to Settings, then Store-level API accounts, and click Create API account.
- Set Products, Content and Information & Settings to modify. Optional: set Sites & Routes to read-only if you run several storefronts. Save.
- Copy the Access Token. BigCommerce shows it only once.
- Find your Store Hash in your admin address: it is the code after
store-instore-abc123def.mybigcommerce.com. - In SEOmatic, on the BigCommerce row, click Add Connection, paste the Store Hash and Access Token, and click Connect.
Choose modify, not read-only
BigCommerce cannot tell SEOmatic whether a key can write. A read-only key connects fine, then every change fails. BigCommerce also does not let you change an account's permissions later: to fix one, create a new API account.
Your agents edit products, web pages, blog posts and categories, plus SEO fields on brand pages and the home page. Redirects apply with one click, and are added for you when a page address changes. Product structured data needs one edit to your product template: the task shows the two snippets and where they go.
Framer (Beta)#
- In your Framer project, open Site Settings, then General, scroll to API Keys, and create a key. You need Editor or Owner access.
- Copy your Project URL from the browser address bar while the Framer editor is open. It looks like
https://framer.com/projects/.... - In SEOmatic, on the Framer row, click Add Connection. Fill in Project URL, Site URL (your public address) and API Key, then click Connect.
- Your agents edit the title, URL and SEO fields of CMS collection items only. Pages designed on the canvas, page text, new articles and redirects come as text to paste.
- Framer can only publish the whole site at once. Before each change, SEOmatic checks for anyone's unpublished work. If it finds some, it holds the change and tells you, so your drafts never go live by accident. Publish or discard them in Framer, then try again.
- If your project uses a staging site, changes publish to staging.
Blogger (Beta)#
- On the Blogger row, click Add Connection, then Connect with Google.
- Sign in with the Google account that owns your blog and tick the Blogger permission.
- SEOmatic picks the blog that matches your site. If your account has several, choose one in Choose your blog and click Connect.
Your agents edit the titles and text of posts and pages, and publish new posts. Blogger has no fields for meta descriptions, canonical, noindex or structured data, so those come as text to paste. Disconnecting does not remove SEOmatic from your Google account, because that would also cut off Search Console. Remove it in your Google account settings if you want.
Headless platforms: Sanity, Contentful, Strapi, Drupal, Craft CMS#
Your website must show the fields
On a headless site, SEOmatic fills in fields in your content. Google only sees an SEO title, canonical or noindex if your website's code reads that field. Check with your developer before you rely on it.
| Platform | Where to find what you paste | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Sanity | At manage.sanity.io, open your project. Copy the Project ID. Under API, Tokens, click Add API token with the Editor role. Dataset is usually production | Viewer tokens are refused. Only documents with a slug are found |
| Contentful | Type your Space ID (Contentful Settings, General settings) and Environment, then click Connect with Contentful. Or paste a token from Settings, CMA tokens, Generate personal token | Spaces in the EU data region: paste a token. Page text is never edited |
| Strapi | In Strapi admin, Settings, API Tokens, Create new API Token, type Full access. API URL is your Strapi server's address | Strapi v4 or v5. SEO fields need the Strapi SEO plugin. Page text is never edited |
| Drupal | Install the Simple OAuth module, go to Configuration, Simple OAuth, create a Consumer, and copy its Client ID and Secret | JSON:API must be on and not read-only. Meta tags need the Metatag module |
| Craft CMS | In the control panel, GraphQL, Tokens, New token. Its schema needs Create/save entries on your sections | Craft 5, or Craft 3.5 or 4 Pro. Values in Craft SEO plugins, including SEOmatic for Craft (a different product), are not written |
After you click Connect, the Choose where your posts go box opens. Click the collection or content type for blog posts, match the fields in Map Blog Fields (Title, Content, Slug, Excerpt and Featured Image are required) and click Confirm Mapping. Until this is done, agent articles stay ready and are not published.
- Contentful with Connect with Contentful and Craft CMS skip this box. To choose a target, ask SEO Copilot to write an article and click Publish to your platform under it. That also publishes the article.
- Strapi only lists collections with common names, such as articles, posts or blogs. If yours has another name and the box says it found nothing, reload the page and email contact@seomatic.ai.
Next.js through its database (Beta)#
If your Next.js site reads its articles from a Postgres database, your agents can add new articles as rows in that table. They never edit your existing pages: every fix to a page comes as text to paste. To have fixes applied as pull requests instead, connect GitHub.
- Copy your database connection string from your provider (Supabase: Project Settings, Database. Neon: Connection Details). It starts with
postgres://. - On the Next.js row, click Add Connection, paste it into Connection String and click Connect.
- Choose the table for articles and match its columns in Map Blog Fields.
The database must be reachable from the internet, and the user needs INSERT and UPDATE rights. Local and private network addresses are refused.
Editing a connection clears the blog target
Clicking Edit then Update replaces the connection, and the collection you chose is cleared without a message. Choose it again afterwards, or agent articles stop publishing.
- My connection worked, but there is nothing to edit. Why?
- The card may say Connected, but the CMS returned no content documents SEOmatic can work with. You connected an empty project, space or dataset. Disconnect and connect the one that holds your live content.
- Why does my agent never suggest FAQ blocks or internal links on Contentful or Strapi?
- Those platforms are connected without editing page text, so your agents only plan changes they can make there.
