How to connect Strapi, and what agents can change there

In Strapi admin, create an API token with Full access, then paste your API URL and API Token on the Strapi row in Connections. Your agents set titles, URLs and image alt text, publish new posts, and fill SEO fields through the Strapi SEO plugin. Page text is never edited.
Before you start#
- You need Strapi v4 or v5.
- For SEO fields, install the Strapi SEO plugin and add its
shared.seocomponent to your content type.
Your website must show the fields
SEOmatic fills in fields in your Strapi content. Google only sees an SEO title, canonical or noindex if your website's code reads that field. Check with your developer before you rely on it.
Connect Strapi#
- In Strapi admin, open Settings, API Tokens, click Create new API Token and set the type to Full access. Copy it.
- In SEOmatic, on the Strapi row, click Add Connection. Fill in API URL (your Strapi server's address) and API Token, then click Connect.
- In Choose where your posts go, click the collection for blog posts, match the fields in Map Blog Fields (Title, Content, Slug, Excerpt and Featured Image are required) and click Confirm Mapping.
Strapi only lists collections with common names, such as articles, posts or blogs. If yours has another name, type its plural API ID (for example blog-posts, from Strapi's Content-Type Builder) under Not listed? and click Use it. Until the mapping is done, agent articles stay ready and are not published.

Fix connection errors#
