Read the AI Agents board: Needs you, In flight, Measuring, Live on your site
Updated
Open the board#
In the sidebar, click AI Agents. The page is called Your AI agents. It updates on its own every 15 seconds. If your website is not connected yet, the board is replaced by a prompt to connect it. See connect your website.
The four columns#
| Column | What is in it | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Needs you | New proposals, campaigns waiting for a go-ahead, and approved work that a safety check held back for you. Unless you chose Approval mode, proposals that can be undone leave this column on their own and go live | Approve, dismiss, or open a held task to see why it waits |
| In flight | Approved work that is running, queued, or waiting its turn. Paused campaigns sit here too, marked Paused | Usually nothing. Each card says what it waits on |
| Measuring | Changes written to your site, waiting for the verdict | Nothing. Each card shows when the verdict is due |
| Live on your site | Every change SEOmatic saw on your live page, newest first, plus today's finished tasks and any result that got worse | Check the page with See it live, or Undo a change |

Measuring is not the same as live
A card moves to Measuring as soon as your site accepts the change. SEOmatic then opens your live page at about 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours and 24 hours. Only when it sees the change there does it appear under Live on your site with Checked on your site. If a card stays in Measuring but never shows in that list, a page cache, your theme or an SEO plugin may be showing different values. See my site still shows the old version.
You cannot drag cards between columns. A card moves to In flight only when it is approved. Each column shows 10 cards, then Show all. Dismissed tasks, and tasks closed as no longer needed, leave the board.
The line above the columns#
- done today: changes applied, tasks finished and wins confirmed today.
- need you: how many cards sit in the Needs you column.
- At the top of the Needs you column, a line such as 3 changes going live on their own today, 2 wait for your yes counts the small fixes in it. When some wait for you, a button such as Approve 2 approves them in one click.
- Live feed: opens What your agents did, everything your agents did, newest first, with a summary of the last two days at the top.
Read a card#
| You see | It means |
|---|---|
| Campaign or Standalone | Part of a group of related tasks, or a single task. See campaigns |
| High, Medium, Low | Priority, from the score your agents gave the task |
| Undo in one click | A small fix that can be reversed in one click. It goes live on its own unless you chose Approval mode, and it is put back automatically if it hurts your clicks |
| Bigger change | New content, a page rewrite, redirects and other larger work, worth a careful read. Redirects, page removals and batches of new pages wait for a person. Changes that can still be undone, such as a page text refresh or a single new article, go live on their own unless you chose Approval mode, and so do requests asking Google to look at a page and sitemap submissions |
| Cannot run yet | The agent cannot carry this out as it is. The card says why and has no Approve button |
| Quick win | Picked because it can show a result fast, until your first verified win |
| A pulsing live dot | The agent is working on it right now |
| About 2,500 to 8,000 credits | The estimated cost. You are charged what the run actually uses |
| Specialist name at the bottom | Which agent handles it, for example On-Page Optimizer. " · you" means you asked for it in chat |
Click any card to open its details: what the agent found, what it will do, what to expect, the exact change once it exists, and its history. For title and description rewrites you can click See the exact change before you approve.
Lines that explain a wait#
| Line on the card | What it means |
|---|---|
| Queued - your agents work through a few at a time | Approved and waiting its turn. Your agents release a few tasks at a time |
| Waiting on: followed by a task name | Another task in the plan has to finish first |
| Retrying shortly - the last attempt failed | The last try failed and the agent will try again on its own |
| Verdict in a few days or Verdict around a date | When the result will be judged, and why it takes that long |
| So far: followed by a number of clicks | An early reading while measuring. It is not the verdict |
| A line starting with Approved | Approved more than 24 hours ago and not done yet, for example blocked by credits, billing or the site connection, or waiting for tomorrow's spending limit. The line, and its button when there is one, say what to fix |
A held task goes back to Needs you and its status starts with Needs you:, followed by the reason. Every reason and its fix is in I approved a fix but nothing changed.
Cards that cannot run#
- Advice for you to apply. The agent has no way to make this change itself. Click Hide once you have read it.
- Targets a search phrase, not a page. Click Retarget to open chat with a request to re-create it on the page that ranks for that phrase.
- The page is not in your connected site. Click Connect or Retarget.
Your first fix#
Until you approve your first task, the board shows a card at the top: Your first fix is ready, with the change before and after. Click Approve this change (on some fixes the button reads Approve and run or Approve) and the card follows the work until it is live. See approve your first fix.
- Why does the bell at the top show a different number from the board?
- The bell groups things. Proposals blocked by the same setup problem show as one row, and a proposed campaign counts once, not once per task. See the Needs you list.
- Where did a finished task go?
- Finished cards stay on the board for the day they finish. After that, a change that is still live stays in the Live on your site list, and the full record stays in the Live feed.
- How do I ask for new work now?
- Click New campaign at the top of the board and describe what you want. It opens SEO Copilot, which proposes a plan for you to approve.
