What needs the trial or a paid plan#
- Your agents: planning tasks, approving fixes, and making changes on your site.
- Campaigns, articles written by your agents, and publishing from SEO Copilot.
- Tracking your own questions in AI Visibility and scheduled scans.
- Teammates and extra sites.
- SEO Copilot remembering facts about your site across conversations.
On Free, a small lock appears next to AI Agents, Landing Pages, Blog Posts, Datasets and AI Visibility in the sidebar. The pages still open. Creating, saving or running something there opens the upgrade window.

Extra questions are banked and used after your monthly 5. They do not expire. Nothing is paid when someone only signs up. Questions earned by connecting or inviting can bank up to 25 at a time, and the Search Console invite reward pays at most 5 times in 30 days. Bought questions and the 30 for a subscribing invitee have no cap. The sidebar shows how many you have banked under SEO Copilot questions.
When you run out, SEO Copilot opens the upgrade window: You have used your free SEO Copilot questions. In Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants the message is You've used all 5 free questions this month. You can wait until the 1st, earn or buy more, or start a trial.
One-off purchases, no subscription#
When it fits your question, SEO Copilot offers a one-off purchase in a card titled One-off, no subscription: an SEO article ($9), an AI visibility scan or a competitor scan ($19), or 50 more questions ($5). You pay on the secure Stripe page and come back to the same conversation.
Move from Free to the trial#
- As the account owner, open Settings > Billing Details, or click Start your 14-day free trial in step 3 of the plan on your dashboard.
- Pick a plan and finish the secure Stripe checkout ($1 today, taken off your first payment).
- Your agents switch on and start their first planning run. Your first tasks usually land on the AI Agents board within a few minutes.

If you landed on Free after a plan ended#
When a paid plan or trial ends, your account moves to Free. A banner says You're on the Free plan. SEO Copilot and your data are still here - the agents that act on your site pause until you upgrade. Changes your agents already made on your site stay there, and you can still undo them. See what happens when you cancel.
- Does the Free plan expire?
- No. You can stay on Free as long as you like.
- Why does my dashboard say none of my searches qualify for a fix?
- Fix cards need pages that rank but get few clicks, or pages close to the first page of Google. New or low-traffic sites may have none yet. SEOmatic checks again each week.
- Can I approve a fix card on Free?
- No. The card says Approving needs a paid plan. Start the trial to let your agents make the change.
