What happens when you run out of AI credits

How you know#
- An email when 80% is used. The account owner gets it, with a button to see where the credits went.
- The sidebar bar. AI Credits at the bottom of the sidebar turns amber at 70% and red at 90%.
- A line on the AI Agents board when the credits are used up. It starts with Your agents stopped and shows how many credits you used and how many approved changes are waiting.
- In SEO Copilot, a window that says you have used all your AI credits for this billing period.

An approved task that is waiting says Approved, but this month's AI credits are used up. It runs when you add credits or when they reset. You do not need to approve it again.

Buy a credit pack
- In the sidebar, click Settings, then the Plans tab.
- Scroll to Add-ons and find Need more AI credits?
- Click Buy credits on the pack you want.
- Pay on the secure Stripe page. The credits are added to your pool as soon as the payment goes through, and approved work starts again.
Pack credits are used after your monthly credits. They roll over from month to month and never expire while your subscription is active. If you buy packs every month, a bigger plan usually costs less: see change your plan.
Only the account owner can buy credits
Credit packs and plan changes are on the Plans tab, which only the owner sees. If you are an Admin or Member, ask the owner. Packs also need an active paid plan: they cannot be bought during a trial, while a payment is failing, or on the Free plan.
On a trial#
A trial includes 500,000 credits. Credit packs are not available until your plan starts. If you run out before day 14, you can start your plan early:
- On the AI Agents board, click Start your plan now, then Start {Plan} now. The trial banner at the top of the dashboard has the same Start {Plan} now button.
- Read the window Start {Plan} today?. It shows the amount charged today on the card you saved when the trial started.
- Click Start {Plan} (the button shows the price) to confirm, or Keep trialing to go back. Once confirmed, your trial ends, your plan starts, and its full monthly credits are available within a few seconds. Paused work restarts once the credits cover it.

Paused for today is different#
If the board says Your agents paused for today after using this workspace's daily budget, your monthly credits are fine. The workspace reached its daily credit cap. Work carries on the next day. To raise the cap, open Settings > AI Agents and change Daily credit cap. See how credits work.
Avoid running out in the middle of the month#
- Check the estimate before you approve. Each task card shows about how many credits it uses.
- Lower the daily credit cap on busy workspaces so one site cannot use the whole pool in a few days.
- Look at Where your credits went in Settings > Billing Details to see which work uses the most.
- Approve campaigns with care. A campaign pauses with Budget spent when it reaches its budget, and you choose whether to give it more.
- Will I lose the tasks I approved?
- No. They wait and run on their own once credits are available, unless their campaign is paused.
- Do unused credits carry over to next month?
- Plan credits do not. Credit pack credits do, for as long as your subscription is active.
- Can I still undo a change when I am out of credits?
- Yes. Every change your agents made can still be undone. See approve, dismiss or undo a task.
