Every Fix Your Agents Make to Get You Into AI Answers
Updated
Where This Work Comes From#
Each week your agents read your latest AI Visibility scan. They take up to 8 questions where engines name you nowhere (Invisible) or only on some engines (Weak). About 1 in 4 of those is left untouched on purpose, so the result can be measured (when at least 3 are workable). For each remaining question, they look for your page whose title or address matches it:
- A page matches: Optimize for AI search answers on that page.
- No page matches: Write a new article that answers the question, at most 4 per week.
- An engine cited one of your pages last scan and no longer does: Optimize for AI search answers on that page, to win it back.
- Reddit threads supply at least a quarter of the citations for a question: Prepare a community outreach brief.
- Your robots.txt blocks AI search bots: Prepare crawler-access changes.
- Your homepage has no brand data, or no links to your profiles: Add your brand ID card (schema).

Add an FAQ section comes from Google, not AI answers: questions people type into Google at least 30 times a month, not about your brand, where your page sits below position 3. The other fixes below are proposed when your agents judge a page needs them, or when you ask SEO Copilot for them. All of this needs your website connected.
Each Fix, Side by Side#
On its own? describes Assisted and Auto modes. In Approval mode, every fix below waits for you. See approval modes.
| Card name | What changes on your site | On its own? | Undo | Verdict after |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Optimize for AI search answers | Short answer passages in the page body, up to 6 edits, built only from facts on the page or its sources. Any number that cannot be checked is removed. The title and description stay the same | Yes | One click | 30 days |
| Add a citable passage | One passage at the end of the page that AI answers can quote: a heading with one or two paragraphs, or a question and answer. Held for you if it uses a number the page and its sources do not show | Yes | One click | 21 days |
| Add an FAQ section | 1 to 6 questions answered from the page, at the end of the page, plus FAQ data. A page too thin to answer from is skipped | Yes | One click, and undone for you if it hurts clicks | 21 days |
| Add trust signals (author, dates, sources) | Author, dates and sources woven into the page. Nothing is invented | Yes | One click | 28 days |
| Update the page freshness | A visible "Last updated" date. A reference the page itself shows to be stale is lightly fixed; any other out-of-date reference is flagged for you, not rewritten | Yes | One click | 21 days |
| Add author information | Author data, only when the page has a real author | Yes | One click | 21 days |
| Add your brand ID card (schema) | Organization data on your homepage, with links to the profiles your homepage already shows. It uses only the brand name your site already shows | No. Your homepage is never changed automatically, so you approve it yourself | One click, except on Shopify and Ghost | 30 days |
| Write a new article | A new article answering a question no page covers | Yes | Back to draft on WordPress, Shopify, Ghost, Webflow, BigCommerce, Contentful and Blogger; no undo elsewhere | 90 days |
| Prepare a community outreach brief | Nothing. A brief on the Reddit threads AI engines cite for your questions. SEOmatic never posts | No | Nothing to undo | Not measured |
| Prepare crawler-access changes | Lines in your robots.txt that let AI search bots read your site. You add them, or an admin applies them from Slack | No, in every mode | Its own Undo | 21 days, from when it is applied |
Once a fix has run, its card uses the past tense, for example Added a citable passage. Most of these cards carry the Bigger change badge, because they change page text. They still go live on their own in Assisted and Auto. Only Add an FAQ section shows Undo in one click.
When a whole campaign waits
Your agents may group this work into one campaign. If that campaign also holds a crawler-access change or a community brief, the whole campaign waits for your approval, page fixes included.
Safety Checks Before Anything Goes Live#
- A quality reviewer reads every passage. Anything it cannot back up is held for you.
- If the page was edited by someone else meanwhile, the agent stops and hands the change to you.
- Some page-builder pages, such as Elementor pages, cannot take text changes and are skipped. If your platform cannot take page text, the change comes as text to paste. See what agents can change on each platform.
- Your homepage, pricing and checkout pages are never changed by an automatic approval.
Undo and Verdicts#
- Undo any of these from Live on your site on the board, or from the Undo link in the daily email for changes that went live without a click. Members, admins and the owner can undo.
- If an FAQ section measurably hurts the page's clicks, the agent removes it on its own. For the other fixes, the agent tells you and you decide.
- The verdict on each card uses the same Search Console check as every other fix. See live, measuring and verified.
- The effect on AI answers is measured separately, on the line above the AI Visibility chart, by comparing the questions your agents worked on with the ones left untouched. See reading the AI Visibility page.
- Can I make these fixes wait for me without choosing Approval mode?
- Only Add an FAQ section is in the Always ask first for… list. To make the other page fixes wait, choose Approval in Settings > AI Agents.
- Can I ask for a fix on a specific question?
- Yes. Ask SEO Copilot, for example: add a citable passage to my pricing guide for the question "best CRM for small agencies". It proposes the task for you to approve. See SEO Copilot.
- Will the agent add an llms.txt file?
- No. Your agents do not propose llms.txt files.
