Calls and the Four Counts#
| Count | What it means |
|---|---|
| Calls | Calls made from your listing in the last 30 days, with the change against the 30 days before. |
| Direction requests | People who asked Google for directions to you. |
| Website clicks | Clicks from your listing to your website. |
| Times shown in Search and Maps | How often your listing was shown on Google Search and Google Maps. |
- The numbers come from Google and are synced every day. Google's data runs about 2 days behind.
- The dashed lines on Calls From Your Profile, Last 30 Days mark the agent's changes: a published update or an applied profile edit. When calls clearly rose after one, a green line under the sentence names the change and how many more calls came in the days after it than in the same number of days before. It only appears when the rise is clear.
- With several locations, the counts add them all up. The cards below them are about one location, named on the page. Pick another in the menu at the top.
Your Category#
Your primary category is the biggest factor in who Google shows in the Maps top 3. SEOmatic compares your categories with the businesses ranked above you, and tells you when most of them list one you do not, for example 2 of the 3 businesses above you also list "Emergency dental service".
- Add category puts a card on the AI Agents board. Approving it gives you the steps to add the category in Google yourself. The agent never changes categories: a category change can trigger a review by Google.
- Not now hides that suggestion for this listing. SEOmatic remembers it.
Ready for Ask Maps#
Google now answers customer questions on Maps with AI, from your profile, your reviews and your website. This card lists questions customers ask about businesses like yours, such as Do you take my insurance?, and whether your profile answers each one.
- Click Add answers. SEOmatic fills in what your profile or your site already says, and names where each answer came from.
- Check each answer and write the missing ones in your own words.
- Click Stage answers. The answers wait on the AI Agents board. Once you approve, each goes into your profile description with its question.
The Google Maps Top 3, Compared#
- The search is your first tracked search in the listing's city, or your primary category if you track none there. See track your Google rankings.
- Each row shows the place on Google Maps, rating, number of reviews, Updates, Last 30 Days and categories. A dash means it could not be read yet.
- If your listing was not in the first 20 Google Maps results for the search, the card says so.
- The comparison runs once a week, and again when you click Refresh.
Possible Duplicate Listing#
If another Google Maps listing looks like your business, for example the same name at the same address, a yellow Possible Duplicate Listing box names it. Duplicates can get a profile suspended. SEOmatic changes nothing: click See how to fix it to ask Google to remove or merge it.
Refresh and What It Costs#
The daily sync is free. Refresh at the top right syncs your profile now and runs the Google Maps comparison again, which uses credits. The window says the cost before anything is spent.
| Listings | Credits for one Refresh |
|---|---|
| 1 | About 700, up to about 4,700 |
| 2 | About 1,400, up to about 9,400 |
- The base is about 700 credits a listing. Up to about 1,000 more for each of the 4 businesses compared (the 3 above you and your own) when its Updates, Last 30 Days count is more than a week old. Most refreshes spend none of that part.
- One Refresh every 6 hours. A second one inside that window says Already refreshed in the last 6 hours. Nothing was spent.
- The weekly comparison uses the same credits, once a week.
- The Overview shows no numbers.
- Check the message at the top. Waiting for Google to Open Access means Google has not opened its Business Profile API to SEOmatic yet. Pick Your Listing means no listing is chosen for this site. See connect your Google Business Profile.
- Who can click Refresh, Add category or Add answers?
- Members, Admins and the Owner. Viewers can read every card.
- Can I get the weekly calls somewhere else?
- Yes. Every Monday SEOmatic sends a Weekly calls from the Business Profile event to your connected assistant or automation, and you can ask your assistant "How many calls did my profile bring this month?". See have your AI assistant act when something changes.
