Author Page Template

An author page shows who writes your content and why they know the topic: their role, experience, qualifications and outside profiles. Every byline on your site links to it. It is how readers, Google and AI tools confirm that a real person with real experience stands behind your pages.

The most common mistakes are stock photos, invented personas and credentials nobody can check. Use a real photo, list experience that appears on outside profiles like LinkedIn, and link every article to the author page and back.

The template runs top to bottom in this order. Each block is there for a reason: search, trust, AI answers or conversion.

• Breadcrumb: An /authors/ hub listing everyone who writes for you.

• Person Hero: Real photo, real role, years of experience. No stock images, no invented personas.

• One-Paragraph Bio: Who they are and why they know the topic, in one paragraph that stands on its own.

• Credentials: Facts that can be checked elsewhere: jobs, qualifications, publications.

• Topics: The topics they cover, each linking to its hub. It tells Google what this person is an expert in.

• Their Articles: Every article they wrote, newest first.

• Outside Profiles: Real profiles, also listed in the schema as sameAs. This is the check Google and AI tools can do.

• Editorial Standards: A link to how you write, fact-check and update. One page for the whole site.

Publish only when:

• A real person with a real photo.

• Experience you can check on outside profiles.

• Every article they wrote links here, and this page links back.

The one thing that matters most: Link the author's real profiles (LinkedIn, talks, publications). It is how Google and AI tools confirm the person exists and knows the topic.
