Search Console is connected but SEOmatic shows no data
Updated
Find your case#
| Search Visibility shows | What it means | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Choose your property | Google is connected, but this workspace has no property picked. Your agents and weekly report have no Search Console data until you pick one. | Click Choose a property, pick your site, click Confirm. |
| Connect Google Search Console | Neither you nor the workspace owner has connected Google. | Click Connect Search Console. See connect Google Search Console. |
| Couldn't load Search Console data | Usually Google no longer accepts the connection: access was removed, the Google password changed, or the connection aged out. | Click Try again once. If it still fails, the account owner opens Settings > Integrations and clicks Reconnect. |
| Numbers, but far too low, or for another site | The workspace uses the wrong property. | Change the property (below). |
| No keywords in this period yet. or zero clicks | Google has no data for this site yet. Normal for a new site or one with very little traffic. | Wait. Try Last 90 days to look further back. |
You connected from Settings#
Turning on the Google Search Console switch in Settings > Integrations connects your Google account but does not ask which property to use. The warning banner then disappears, but the workspace still has no property. Go to Search Visibility and click Choose a property.
You disconnected and reconnected#
Disconnecting clears the property on every workspace you own. Reconnecting does not put it back. Open each workspace, go to Search Visibility and pick its property again.
The wrong property is picked#
- In the sidebar, click SEO Copilot.
- In Data Sources, bottom left, hover over Search Console and click the pencil (Change property). This needs a mouse: the pencil does not appear on a phone or tablet.
- Pick the right property and click Confirm.
If two rows have the same name, one is the Domain property and the other a URL-prefix property. Prefer the Domain property: it counts every version of your site. More in connect Google Search Console.
You are a teammate, not the owner#
- SEOmatic reads Search Console through the workspace owner's Google connection. If the owner never connected, background work has no data even if you connected.
- If picking a property says The workspace owner's Google account can't read this Search Console property, add the owner's Google account as a user on that property in Search Console, then pick it again.
- The banner Your agent can only see part of the picture checks your own Google connection, so it can show even when the workspace already has data through the owner. If Search Visibility shows numbers, you can ignore it.
- Its Connect Search Console button opens a Settings tab only the owner can see, so teammates land on Account. Connect from Search Visibility instead.
It is only a timing issue#
- Google's numbers are 2 to 3 days behind, so the most recent days never show.
- SEOmatic keeps your numbers for up to 1 hour before asking Google again.
- Right after you pick a property, SEOmatic loads up to 26 weeks of history in the background. Trends can take a few minutes to fill in.
- A brand-new site, or one recently added to Search Console, can have no data for days or weeks. During setup this shows as Your Search Console property doesn't have enough data yet, which is normal for a new site.
Messages that are not about missing data#
- On Free, none of your searches qualify for a fix yet means your data arrived, but no page ranks well enough with few clicks yet. SEOmatic checks again each week.
- No Search Console data yet. on your dashboard has the same causes as above. Check Search Visibility first.
