Inside the Google Indexing Check Skill
The Short Answer
The SEOmatic indexing check skill teaches an AI agent to inspect your key pages with Google Search Console's URL Inspection data: coverage state, last crawl, the canonical Google picked, robots rules and noindex. It turns statuses like 'Crawled, currently not indexed' into plain words with the usual fix, checks your sitemaps, and can crawl up to 30 pages for noindex leaks. SEOmatic can stage fixes such as a canonical, a robots change or an indexing request, and nothing goes live until you click approve.
What You Get
One line per page with its status in plain words, why, and the fix, then a count such as 14 of 20 key pages indexed. Exclusions that are correct, like tag archives, are called correct.

By default, nothing changes on your site until you approve it. A fix is staged as a proposal that says what will change and why. Approved fixes run within seconds, the page's previous state is stored, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. A rollback refuses to overwrite edits someone made since. Changes that could take a page out of Google, like a noindex, need an extra confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it force Google to index a page?
No one can. Requesting indexing asks Google to crawl the page; it does not guarantee the page gets indexed. The skill says so and fixes the reasons Google skipped the page.
Do I need Google Cloud to use URL Inspection?
No. You sign in to SEOmatic with Google once, and the URL Inspection data comes through SEOmatic's hosted MCP server.
Is the Google Indexing Check skill free?
The skill is free and open source (MIT). Connecting is free with no card. Search Console reports, page checks and 30-page site audits are free, as often as you like.
