Inside the Local SEO Weekly Skill
The Short Answer
The SEOmatic local SEO weekly skill teaches an AI agent to run a local business's weekly SEO in one pass: what moved in its tracked searches (daily positions from one city, its place in the Google Maps top 3, and whether an AI Overview names it), the reviews waiting for a reply with a reply already drafted in the business's voice, this week's Google Business Profile update written from a line about a recent job and a photo, gaps in the profile, and the calls the profile brought in. Reads are free. Every reply, update and fix is staged in SEOmatic as an approval card, and nothing goes live until you approve it. It is made to run as a scheduled task every Monday in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.

Every fix follows your approval mode: in Approval mode, nothing changes on your site until you approve it. A fix is staged as a proposal that says what will change and why. Approved fixes run within seconds, the page's previous state is stored, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. A rollback refuses to overwrite edits someone made since. Changes that could take a page out of Google, like a noindex, need an extra confirmation.

Does it post review replies or updates on its own?
No. Each reply and each update waits as an approval card. You approve them one by one or several at once, and the skill never approves anything itself.
Why does it not show views for each update?
Google no longer reports views per Business Profile update, so the skill does not quote any. It reports calls, direction requests, website clicks and times shown over 30 days instead.
Can it change my business name or category?
Only when you ask for exactly that. Adding a city or a service to a business name gets profiles suspended, and SEOmatic refuses it.
What does it cost?
Reading rankings, reviews and the profile is free. Tracking a search and drafting a reply or an update use credits, and the agent tells you the number before anything is charged.
Is the Local SEO Weekly skill free?
The skill is free and open source (MIT). Connecting is free with no card. Search Console reports, page checks and 30-page site audits are free, as often as you like. Live market data (keyword volumes, competitors, backlinks) uses free questions: 5 a month, plus a one-time 10 when you connect Search Console, and one question covers up to 5 lookups. Staging and publishing fixes is part of paid plans, which start with a 14-Day Trial for $1, credited to your first payment.
