Grok Bot is built for work that runs without you watching, so it suits a recurring check on your Shopify site: compare your products, collections, pages and articles against Search Console every week, speak up only when something moved, and stage the fix. Nothing reaches Shopify until you approve it, and SEOmatic writes it through the Shopify Admin API.
You: Every Monday, check my Shopify site and flag pages that lose clicks.
Grok Bot: This week's check: from Sep 13 to Oct 10 (28 days), /blogs/news/how-to-unclog-a-drain had 4,110 impressions and 38 clicks at position 9.2 for "how to unclog a drain". That is a low click rate for page one, so the title is the first thing to test: it reads "How to Unclog a Drain | Acme Supply". I staged a new title, "How to Unclog a Drain in 5 Steps, No Plumber Needed", to be written to the article's SEO title in Shopify. It waits for your approval, and I will report the verdict once the change has had time to settle.

Create a custom app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard and copy its Client ID and Client Secret. In SEOmatic, go to Connections and select Shopify. Enter your store domain and both credentials. SEOmatic validates them and warns you about any missing permission before you finish. The full walkthrough, with every screen, is on the Shopify integration page.
Ask your Bot to add a custom MCP server with this URL (Streamable HTTP, OAuth), or add it under Plugins, then open the sign-in link. Token-only Bot? Store an SEOmatic API key as a Bot secret. Or select Connect apps, search SEOmatic and add it.

Paste any of these into Grok Bot. It answers from your data and stages the fix; you approve it before it reaches Shopify.
More that work well in Grok Bot:
After you approve, SEOmatic writes the change through the Shopify Admin API and checks that it is live. Then it measures the result against the page's own baseline and your site's trend: 14 days after a title change, 28 after a content refresh, 90 after a new page. Each change is marked verified, ineffective or regressed, and a low-risk change that loses traffic is rolled back on its own. Ask Grok Bot "Did my Shopify title changes work?" and it answers from those verdicts.
Full blog posts from research to published draft: brief, article, featured image, tags and meta, straight into your store blog.

Every field, limit and safeguard is on the Shopify integration page.
Shopify
A Shopify store on a paid plan, with store owner or staff admin access. You create a custom app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard and paste its Client ID and Secret. It needs write access to Store content and Products, read access to Themes, and read and write on Publications, Metaobject definitions and Metaobjects.
Grok Bot
An x.ai Bot and a free SEOmatic account. The Bot signs in with OAuth; if it only accepts a token, create an API key in Settings, AI Agents, API Keys and store it as a Bot secret.
Grok Bot works the same way on WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Blogger, Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Drupal, BigCommerce, HubSpot CMS, Contentful, Strapi, Sanity, Next.js, Lovable, GitHub, Craft CMS.
Can Grok Bot fix SEO on my Shopify site?
Yes, through SEOmatic. Grok Bot reads your Search Console data, finds the products, collections, pages and articles losing clicks and stages the fix, which SEOmatic writes to Shopify once you approve. The three setup steps are on this page.
What can Grok Bot change on Shopify?
SEOmatic works on your products, collections, pages and articles through the Shopify Admin API: titles, descriptions and content first, and more where Shopify allows it. Every field and limit is listed on the Shopify integration page.
How do I know if a Shopify fix worked?
SEOmatic measures every change it ships against the page's own baseline and your site's trend, 14 days after a title change, 28 after a content refresh and 90 after a new page, and marks it verified, ineffective or regressed. Grok Bot can read those verdicts for you.
What do I need on the Grok Bot side?
An x.ai Bot and a free SEOmatic account. The Bot signs in with OAuth; if it only accepts a token, create an API key in Settings, AI Agents, API Keys and store it as a Bot secret.
Will Grok Bot publish to Shopify without asking?
No. By default every change SEOmatic proposes waits for your approval before it touches your site, and your assistant is told never to approve on its own. Approved changes are stored with the page's previous state, so any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. If you later want low-risk fixes to go ahead on their own, you can turn that on in your autonomy settings; changes to your URLs or indexing, and new content, still wait for you.
Is it free?
Connecting is free with no card. Search Console reports, page checks and 30-page site audits are free, as often as you like; live market data uses free questions, 5 a month plus a one-time 10 when you connect Search Console. Staging and publishing fixes is part of paid plans, which start with a 14-day free trial.
