How SEOmatic AI Shopping Visibility Works
Open AI Shopping in the admin menu. The product readiness check runs immediately on your 50 most recent products and lists each gap per product with an edit link; the crawler log starts recording.
Connecting a free account is one click. It shares, so your dashboard can show reading, referrals, citations and sales side by side: AI-crawler visits (user-agent and page path), visits arriving from an AI assistant or from Bing or DuckDuckGo (the referring hostname and landing path), searches typed into your store (the query text and whether it found anything), and orders placed by a shopper who first arrived from an AI assistant (the assistant's name, order total and currency only, never a customer's name, address, email or line items). A daily count of products missing each field is sent too, counts only. The connect screen says so first, and one checkbox in Settings turns it off.
To link an order to the assistant that sent the shopper, a visitor who arrives from an AI assistant gets one first-party cookie for 30 days, holding only the assistant's name. It is set only while sharing is on, waits for statistics consent when a WP Consent API plugin is active, and a suggested privacy-policy paragraph is added for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this log my shoppers?
No. The crawler log matches user-agents against known AI bots and ignores everything else. Once connected, a visit is only reported if it arrived from an AI assistant (or from Bing or DuckDuckGo), and then only the referring host and the landing page; such a visitor also gets the 30-day attribution cookie. No IP address is stored or sent for anyone.
