Find the data only you have for programmatic SEO
Short answer: Programmatic pages rank when they carry facts other sites cannot copy: your prices, jobs, stock, product specs or summed-up customer data. Aim for at least 4 facts that change on every page.
Demand tells you what to build. Data decides if the page deserves to rank. Under Google's scaled content policy, this matters most. If any site could make the same page from the same public list, Google has no reason to pick yours.
Where your data hides
- Your product. Integrations, features, templates, plans, file types, languages.
- Your operations. Jobs done, places served, delivery times, prices quoted, stock.
- Your customers. Reviews, support questions, common setups. Always summed up, never one person's data.
- Your catalog. Sizes, materials, fit, what works with what.
- Public data you improve. Open data is fine only when you add your own math or your own layer on top.
Example: a moving company
They had 1,800 past jobs in a spreadsheet: from city, to city, volume, price, days.
Grouped by route, that gives a median price and a usual move time for every route with 10 or more jobs.
The result is a set of "Moving from Lyon to Paris: cost and time" pages with real medians. No competitor can copy those numbers.
Rule of thumb: at least 4 fields that change on every page. Facts, not adjectives.
Your 10-minute task: Start your dataset
- Open a new sheet. One row per page you would build for the pattern you circled in lesson 4.
- Add one column per fact that changes per row. Plain names: median_price, setup_steps, cities_served.
- Fill 10 rows from your real sources. No made-up examples.
- Count the columns filled for at least 8 of the 10 rows. Under 4? Find more data before you build anything.
