Enter a sitemap URL and get a changefreq recommendation per path prefix, based on the median age of its lastmod values. No guesses when there is not enough data.
Our sitemap frequency analyzer fetches a sitemap (recursing into a sitemap index when it finds one), groups every URL by its first path segment (/blog/, /docs/, /products/), and recommends a changefreq value per group based on the median age of the lastmod values within. We use standard sitemaps.org changefreq tokens: hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. Prefixes with fewer than three dated URLs get a "needs more data" verdict instead of a guess.
The recommendation logic is conservative. We use the median age, not the average, so one outlier does not swing the call. If the freshest URL in a prefix is itself over a year old, the recommendation downgrades to yearly even when the median looks fresh, because a "weekly" recommendation on a folder nobody touches is misleading.
