Enter a website and we find its sitemaps from robots.txt and common locations, validate each one, and count the URLs. No need to know where the sitemap lives.
Our sitemap checker finds the sitemaps a website exposes, even when you do not know where they live. Enter any URL and the tool reads the site's robots.txt for Sitemap directives, then probes the common locations such as /sitemap.xml and /sitemap_index.xml. For each sitemap it finds, it fetches and validates the XML against the sitemaps.org protocol and reports the URL count, whether it is a regular sitemap or a sitemap index, and any errors or warnings. The fetch runs on our server, so it works even when a sitemap is not linked anywhere obvious.
This is different from validating a sitemap you already have: the checker is about discovery. It tells you which sitemaps a domain actually serves, where it found them (robots.txt or a guessed path), and how many URLs they contain in total. Every result is based on the live files, with no made-up score, just what exists and whether it is valid.
