Paste text or check a live URL. Every term ranked by how often it appears and what share of the page it takes, across single words and two- and three-word phrases. Free, no signup.
Keyword density is how often a term appears as a share of all the words on a page. Say a term 12 times in a 400-word page and its density is 3%. The number matters less than what it reveals: whether a page reads naturally, or whether the same phrase has been forced in so often that a reader notices.
Paste your text or give us a URL, and you get every term ranked by count and density — single words, two-word phrases and three-word phrases in separate tables, because the phrase that gives a page away is usually two or three words long, not one.
We count density against every word on the page, including common words like “the” and “of”. Those are left out of the tables, where they would be noise, but they stay in the denominator because they are words a reader reads. Tools that strip them first report inflated figures for everything else. Ours are the honest ratio.
You will find blog posts insisting on 1%, or 2%, or 2.5%. None of that comes from Google, which has said for years that it does not use a density threshold. What high density actually costs you is a reader: text with one phrase hammered into every paragraph reads badly, and people leave. We flag anything above roughly 4% for a single word as worth a look — not as a rule violation, because a brand name or a product term legitimately repeats.
The same tables answer a different question if you are writing rather than optimising: which words am I leaning on? Writers use this to catch verbal tics and repeated openers. Nothing is SEO-specific about the counts, so use whichever framing fits.
Paste text and everything runs in your browser — no upload, no captcha, no daily limit, so you can iterate on a draft freely. Check a URL and we fetch the page server-side and read its main article text, skipping navigation, headers and footers so site chrome does not distort the counts.
