Fix Webflow SEO from Cursor
Cursor reads your real Google Search Console data through SEOmatic, finds what is holding your Webflow pages back, and stages the fix. Nothing goes live on Webflow until you approve it, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back.
- Your real Search Console data
- Fixes staged in Webflow

About Webflow in SEOmatic
SEOmatic connects to Webflow with the official Webflow OAuth app. You approve the connection on Webflow's own consent page, and agents work on the CMS collection items your site already has, creating new ones in bulk when you approve a campaign. On your static pages it only ever sets the SEO title and meta description; your Designer layouts and page content are never modified, and SEOmatic never publishes your site, so your unpublished work stays yours to ship.

Requirements
A paid Webflow plan with CMS collections, and permission to authorize apps for your site. Connecting happens on Webflow's own consent page - no API token, no admin settings. The app requests Sites (read), Pages (read and write), and CMS (read and write), nothing more.
How to Fix Webflow SEO from Cursor
Step 1: Connect Webflow to SEOmatic
SEOmatic connects to your Webflow site through Webflow OAuth, then goes to work on the collection items you already have.
Step 1: Open app.seomatic.ai/connect/webflow, or click Install on the Webflow Marketplace. You approve the connection on Webflow's own consent page and, if you granted more than one site, pick the one to connect. SEOmatic reads your site details from Webflow, so there is nothing to re-enter.
Step 2: Map your collection fields once, so SEOmatic knows which field holds the body, the excerpt, the image and your meta tags.
Step 3: Agents read your Search Console data, propose specific fixes with the reasoning attached, and apply the ones you approve. Every change is logged as a diff you can read and undo.
The app asks for five permissions and uses exactly these: Sites (read) and Pages (read) to build your live URLs, Pages (write) to set the SEO title and meta description of your static pages, and CMS (read and write) to work on collection items. It never modifies your page content or Designer layouts, never publishes your site, and disconnecting revokes and deletes the authorization.
Step 2: Connect SEOmatic to Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project, or .cursor/mcp.json in one repo, or add the same URL in Settings, Tools & MCP. Approve the SEOmatic sign-in in your browser and pick your site. Or install SEOmatic from the Cursor Marketplace by typing /add-plugin seomatic in Agent chat.

"seomatic": { "url": "https://app.seomatic.ai/api/mcp" }

}Other ways to connect are on the Cursor page.
Step 3: Ask Cursor, Then Approve
Paste any of these. Cursor answers from your data and stages the fix; you approve it before it reaches Webflow.
- “Which of my Webflow pages lost the most clicks this month, and why?”
- “Stage new titles for my Webflow pages with high impressions and low CTR.”
- “Find Webflow pages Google has not indexed and tell me what is blocking them.”
- “Audit my Webflow homepage and rank the fixes by impact.”
What Cursor Can Change on Webflow
Titles, body content, slugs and meta, rewritten in place on collection items that are already live.
The agent arrives switched off and starts in approval mode. It earns more rope only when you give it.
A before and after view with the reasoning attached, so you see what changed and why.
Any change rolls back to its exact previous value. Low-risk edits that cost you traffic revert on their own.
Agents write only into fields your collections already have. Your Designer layouts and templates are never touched.
Republishing patches the existing item and leaves its live URL alone, rather than creating a second one.
Webflow collections use field names you chose, so we ask once which fields hold the body and meta tags instead of guessing. Title and slug are Webflow system fields and map themselves. We prompt for this right after you connect, and never write to a field your collection does not have.
Formatted HTML is published straight into Webflow rich text fields, images and embeds included.
An approved edit publishes that one collection item live. SEOmatic never publishes your whole site, so unpublished work in your Designer stays yours to ship.
Collection items are where Webflow sites earn their organic traffic, and where the maintenance work piles up fastest. That is exactly what agents take over.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Cursor fix SEO on my Webflow site?
Yes, through SEOmatic. Cursor reads your Google Search Console data, finds what is holding your Webflow pages back and stages the fix.
What can Cursor change on Webflow?
Fixes The Items You Already Have: Titles, body content, slugs and meta, rewritten in place on collection items that are already live. Nothing Applies Without You: The agent arrives switched off and starts in approval mode. It earns more rope only when you give it. A Diff For Every Change: A before and after view with the reasoning attached, so you see what changed and why. One Click Revert: Any change rolls back to its exact previous value. Low-risk edits that cost you traffic revert on their own. Your Design Stays Put: Agents write only into fields your collections already have. Your Designer layouts and templates are never touched. Updates, Never Duplicates: Republishing patches the existing item and leaves its live URL alone, rather than creating a second one.
What do I need to connect Webflow?
A paid Webflow plan with CMS collections, and permission to authorize apps for your site. Connecting happens on Webflow's own consent page - no API token, no admin settings. The app requests Sites (read), Pages (read and write), and CMS (read and write), nothing more.
What do I need on the Cursor side?
Cursor and a free SEOmatic account, which you can create during sign-in. Use OAuth, not an API key: Cursor does not send a configured Authorization header.
Will Cursor publish to Webflow without asking?
No. By default every change SEOmatic proposes waits for your approval before it touches your site, and your assistant is told never to approve on its own. Approved changes are stored with the page's previous state, so any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. If you later want low-risk fixes to go ahead on their own, you can turn that on in your autonomy settings; changes to your URLs or indexing, and new content, still wait for you.
Is it free?
Connecting is free with no card: 5 questions a month from your own data, plus 10 once you connect Search Console, and site audits of up to 30 pages. Staging and publishing fixes is part of paid plans, which start with a 14-day free trial.
