SEOmatic AI: SEO Agent and AI Search for WordPress
One plugin that is useful on day one. Redirects and a 404 log, an AI crawler log, instant indexing, an SEO audit, internal links and business facts all work free, with no account. Connect SEOmatic and its agents fix what your data says matters, written into WordPress and the fields of the SEO plugin you already use.
- Works next to Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO and SEOPress
- Free modules need no account and send nothing anywhere
- Fixes are written into WordPress, so they stay if you cancel

What SEOmatic AI Does
How SEOmatic AI Works
Install it and open SEOmatic in the admin menu. The free modules already work, on your own server.
Press Connect when you want more: sign in, press Allow publishing, and choose your Search Console site. There is no key to copy. A free account brings your Search Console findings and AI answers into wp-admin. On a paid plan, SEOmatic's agents propose fixes, you approve each one under SEOmatic > Approvals or in SEOmatic, and they are written into your posts and your SEO plugin's own fields.
No JavaScript pixel and nothing served only to bots. What your visitors see is what search engines and AI assistants see.
Free, With No Account
Add 301, 302, 307 and 410 rules, see which missing pages people and crawlers actually hit, and fix each one in a click. Refuses loops and chains. Steps aside if Redirection or another redirect plugin is in charge.
See which AI crawlers, such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, read your site and which pages they take. Checks whether robots.txt blocks AI search by accident. Optional llms.txt built from your own content, with a discovery link on your home page so AI tools find it.
Tells Bing, Yandex, Naver and Seznam the moment you publish, update or unpublish a post, through IndexNow. It serves the key file for you. Off until you switch it on.
Checks every published post and page for missing titles, descriptions, headings and more, and lists what to fix first with links to each editor.
Finds older posts that mention a newer post's topic without linking to it, and adds the link in one click. Nothing changes until you click.
Write your business name, founders, founding year, contact details and profiles once. They are added to the structured data your SEO plugin already prints, or printed on their own when there is none, so AI answers quote you instead of guessing.
See which AI assistants read your products, and whether each product has the identifier, brand, image, price and description an assistant needs before it recommends it.
Publish your catalogue as a product feed in the format ChatGPT shopping reads, as JSONL plus CSV for other AI shopping programs. Every product and variation with price, availability, brand, GTIN, images and category, rebuilt daily on your server in batches, so large stores are fine. You give the private link to the program, and the plugin sends nothing. Off until you switch it on.
These modules run entirely on your own server. Nothing is sent anywhere.
With a Free SEOmatic Account
Posts losing traffic, worst drop first, and queries close to page one, shown inside wp-admin under SEOmatic > Losing traffic and SEO audit, each linked to its editor.
The posts AI engines fetch most and the ones AI assistants send visitors to, ranked from your own first-party data.
Redirects for broken inbound links and missing pages, worked out from your data. You apply each one under SEOmatic > Redirects and 404s.
On the AI crawlers screen: which AI assistants mention your site in their answers, the answers gained and lost since the last scan, and the competitors named instead of you.
What moved in your Search Console data this week, in one short email.
Connect in one click, no card. These come from the Search Console property you connect in SEOmatic. The plugin never handles your Google login.
On a Paid Plan
SEO titles, meta descriptions, social previews, canonicals and noindex land in the fields Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress already own.
Structured data, and text inside page builder layouts such as Elementor and Divi, written into the layout itself.
SEOmatic > Approvals lists the fixes waiting for you, with a count in the menu. Approve opens SEOmatic's approve page, where only members of your workspace can decide. Changes that could remove a page from Google open the full review instead.
Each change waits for your approval. The previous value is stored, and any change can be undone.
Fixes live in your posts and your SEO plugin's fields, not in a script. They keep working if you cancel.
Comparison and integration templates for page sets, built on Advanced Custom Fields, so agents can publish a set of pages in your own design.
On a site an agency manages for a client, the plugin shows the agency's name instead of SEOmatic, and its links open the agency's client portal.
SEOmatic's agents fix what your data says matters. The work runs on SEOmatic's servers. The plugin is the door it comes through.
Connect in a Few Clicks
Press Connect on the SEOmatic Home screen and sign in, or create a free account. The plugin receives its key by itself.
WordPress asks you to create an Application Password for SEOmatic, on its own consent screen. That is what lets the fixes you approve be published. You can revoke it any time under your WordPress profile.
Pick the Search Console property for this site, so your findings show up in wp-admin.
Home lists Search Console linked, Publishing allowed and Agents on, each with a tick or the single button that finishes it.
No key to copy. The Home screen shows what is set up and the one next step for anything that is not.
Built to Be Safe
The free modules send nothing. The plugin talks to SEOmatic only after you press Connect, and to IndexNow only after you switch it on. The AI shopping feed sends nothing at all.
Sharing what visitors type into your site search is off by default. Switched on, it still never sends a search that looks like an email address, a phone number or an order number.
API keys are never printed into admin pages, so a screenshot or a shared screen does not leak them.
Uninstalling keeps redirect rules, logs and settings, so reinstalling loses nothing. Tick Delete all data on Home to remove everything instead.
Every write checks that the signed-in user may edit that post or term. Redirects and robots.txt need an administrator.
Ordinary visitors are never logged, no IP address is ever recorded, and no page content leaves your site.
Switch modules on or off on the Home screen. A module that is off adds no code to your pages.
A plugin that touches redirects and SEO fields has to be boring in the best way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Redirects, the 404 log, the AI crawler log, llms.txt, instant indexing, the SEO audit, internal links, business facts, the WooCommerce checks and the AI shopping feed all work without one.
Will it conflict with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, AIOSEO or SEOPress?
No. It works next to them, and agent changes are written into their own fields. Keep the SEO plugin you already use.
Will it conflict with Redirection or another redirect plugin?
No. If another redirect plugin is active, SEOmatic AI stops routing and only shows its rules and suggestions, since two plugins redirecting the same request is how loops happen.
Can SEOmatic change my site without asking?
No. Agents propose changes, and each one waits for your approval in SEOmatic. Every change can be undone.
What happens to my fixes if I stop using SEOmatic?
They stay. Fixes are written into your posts and your SEO plugin's fields, not injected by a script, so they keep working after you cancel. The free modules keep working too.
How do I get my products into ChatGPT shopping?
On AI shopping, switch on Publish my product feed, then apply at chatgpt.com/merchants and give OpenAI the feed link. Acceptance is up to OpenAI, and the same goes for any other program you give the link to. The page counts the products missing a brand, GTIN, image, price or description, the fields the feed asks for.
Where do I approve fixes?
In SEOmatic, or under SEOmatic > Approvals in wp-admin. Approve opens SEOmatic's approve page with the exact change, and only members of your workspace can approve.
What happens when I uninstall?
Your data stays by default, so reinstalling loses nothing, and fixes written into your posts and SEO plugin always stay. What the plugin serves itself, such as redirects and llms.txt, stops while it is not installed. Tick Delete all data on Home to remove everything it stored.
My agency manages my site. Why does the plugin show their name?
On a site an agency manages through SEOmatic, the plugin shows the agency's name and links to their client portal, where you see and approve their work.
I use one of the older SEOmatic plugins. What do I do?
Install SEOmatic AI, activate it, then deactivate the older plugin. Its settings and data carry over.
Will it slow my site down?
No. Front-end work is limited to redirects, the optional llms.txt and a light check for AI crawler visits. Admin pages load only on SEOmatic screens.
