Internal linking for programmatic SEO page sets
Short answer: Give each page set a hub page, link every page up to the hub and across to 3 to 5 truly related pages, and link from your strongest existing pages into the hub. Pick related pages by data, not at random.
A page with no links pointing to it is hard for Google to find and easy to ignore. Inside a set, links tell Google the pages belong together and which one matters most.
- One hub page for the set, like /integrations or /moving-routes. It lists every page and says what the set is for.
- Each page links up to the hub, and across to 3 to 5 siblings that are truly related: nearby cities, tools in the same category, the 2 closest competitors.
- Your strong pages link in. Your top pages by clicks link to the hub where it fits the sentence.
- Breadcrumbs on every page: Home, hub, page.
Example: sibling links picked by data
Page: "Moving from Lyon to Paris".
Siblings: Lyon to Marseille and Lyon to Lille (same start city), Paris to Lyon (the way back).
Not: Nice to Brest. Random links help nobody.
Your 10-minute task: Plan 5 links into your set
- In Search Console, open Performance, then the Pages tab. Sort by clicks.
- Take your top 10 pages and pick the ones that relate to your new set.
- For each one, write the sentence where a link to the hub fits naturally.
- Add those links, and add breadcrumbs to the template if it has none.
