Inside SEOmatic's Google Business Profile MCP
The Short Answer
SEOmatic is a hosted MCP server at https://app.seomatic.ai/api/mcp that reads Google Business Profile locations and review ratings, and measures local rankings for the keywords you choose, next to Google Search Console. Google's MCP catalog lists no Business Profile server as of October 2026. Google's Gemini app has had a Business Profile connection since June 2026 that drafts review replies, but it is not an MCP server your agent can call. The Business Profile MCP servers that exist are community wrappers, some of which reply to reviews or post updates directly. SEOmatic reads your calls, direction requests, website clicks, reviews and the Google Maps top 3, drafts your weekly update and your review replies, and stages each one as an approval card: nothing goes live on your profile until you approve it. Name, address and primary category are never changed without your explicit OK, one at a time. It also stages website fixes, such as location pages and local schema, in your CMS for your approval.
Connect
Add https://app.seomatic.ai/api/mcp as a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) in your agent, then sign in to SEOmatic in the browser. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration, so there is no key to paste. Scripts and headless agents can send a workspace API key as a Bearer token instead.
Connect your Business Profile once in SEOmatic with a Google sign-in. Setup guides per agent: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and 24 more.
https://app.seomatic.ai/api/mcpWhat It Reads
| What | Tool | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Calls, direction requests and website clicks, the Google Maps top 3 against the businesses above you, category advice, Ask Maps readiness, possible duplicate listings | business_profile (overview) | Free |
| Reviews with the replies SEOmatic drafted, unhappy ones first | business_profile (reviews) | Free |
| Profile completeness, edits waiting and this week's update | business_profile (updates) | Free |
| The review link to send every customer | business_profile (review_link) | Free |
| Daily positions for the searches you track, city by city | rank_tracking_read (tracked) | Free to read; tracking uses credits |
Ask "How many calls did my profile bring this month?" or "Which reviews still have no reply?"
What It Drafts for Your OK
| What | Tool and action | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| This week's update, from a job photo and one line about the job | business_profile_manage (draft_update) | A small AI credit charge |
| A reply to one review, in your brand voice | business_profile_manage (redraft_reply) | A small AI credit charge |
| A profile edit, such as hours or a service area | business_profile_manage (propose_edit) | Free |
| Auto-reply to 4 and 5 star reviews (off by default) | business_profile_manage (settings) | Free |
Each one becomes an approval card; you approve it in the chat or in SEOmatic. Replies to 1 to 3 star reviews always wait for you. Name, address and primary category change only when you asked for exactly that and confirmed it.
SEOmatic vs Community Business Profile MCP Servers
| SEOmatic | Community servers (a small example: mcp-google-business) | |
|---|---|---|
| Runs where | Hosted | Usually your machine |
| Reads locations and reviews | Yes | Yes |
| Local rankings for your keywords | Yes | Usually no |
| Replies to reviews, posts updates | Yes, after your approval | Some do, directly |
| Search Console in the same answers | Yes | No |
| Website fixes, staged for approval | Yes | No |
Use a community server if you want an agent to post straight to your profile with no approval step. Use SEOmatic if you want every update and reply drafted for your OK, with your rankings and website fixes in the same answers.
From Answer to Fix
Every fix follows your approval mode: in Approval mode, nothing changes on your site until you approve it. A fix is staged as a proposal that says what will change and why. Approved fixes run within seconds, the page's previous state is stored, and any edit to an existing page can be rolled back. A rollback refuses to overwrite edits someone made since. Changes that could take a page out of Google, like a noindex, need an extra confirmation.
Every shipped change is measured against its own baseline and the site's trend: after 14 days for a title, 28 for a content refresh, 42 for striking-distance and cannibalization work, 90 for a new page. It is marked verified only when the gain over the site's own trend is statistically clear and worth at least 5 more clicks; otherwise it is ineffective, or regressed when it falls more than 15%. Low-risk changes that lose traffic roll back on their own.
What Is Free
Connecting is free with no card. Search Console reports, page checks and 30-page site audits are free, as often as you like. Live market data (keyword volumes, competitors, backlinks) uses free questions: 5 a month, plus a one-time 10 when you connect Search Console, and one question covers up to 5 lookups. Staging and publishing fixes is part of paid plans, which start with a 14-Day Trial for $1, credited to your first payment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there an official Google Business Profile MCP server?
Not from Google. As of October 2026 Google's MCP catalog includes Google Analytics and Google Ads servers but no Business Profile server. Google's Gemini app has had a Business Profile connection since June 2026 that drafts review replies, but it is not an MCP server. The existing Business Profile MCP servers are community wrappers around the Business Profile APIs.
Can SEOmatic reply to reviews or edit my profile?
Yes, after your approval. It drafts a reply to every new review and a weekly update from your job photo, and proposes profile edits such as hours or service areas. Each waits for your OK. You can let 4 and 5 star replies go out on their own (off by default); 1 to 3 star replies always wait. Name, address and primary category are never changed automatically.
Is it free?
Reading what SEOmatic stores from your profile is free: calls, reviews, drafted replies and checks. Drafting an update or a reply uses a small amount of AI credits, and tracking local rankings uses credits for the live search data.
