Notion Integration with SEOmatic

What is Notion?

Notion is an all-in-one workspace tool that helps users organize and manage tasks, notes, databases, and projects. It combines elements of note-taking, project management, and collaboration, allowing individuals and teams to create customized workflows, documents, and wikis in a flexible, user-friendly interface.

How to connect Notion with SEOmatic?

Setting up the Notion integration is quick and straightforward. Before you begin, note that this integration is specifically for users who are building websites on top of Notion databases using platforms like Feather.so, Popsy.so, or Super.so. We sync fields directly from your Notion database, allowing you to create and publish large-scale content seamlessly.

To set up, first create an API Token with the necessary permissions in your Notion account. After that, enter your domain name and API token into SEOmatic to establish the connection. Once connected, you'll be able to sync and publish content effortlessly to your Notion database.

Use case 1: Location Pages

Businesses with multiple locations (e.g., franchises, retail chains, or service providers) can automatically generate location-specific pages for each city or neighborhood they operate in. These pages can be SEO-optimized with local keywords, maps, and contact information, significantly boosting visibility in local search results without manual page creation.

Use case 2: Service Pages

For businesses offering a wide range of services (e.g., law firms, home service providers, or agencies), the integration allows them to quickly create dedicated service pages optimized for search engines. By targeting specific services (e.g., plumbing in a certain area or personal injury law), these pages rank well for industry-specific keywords, driving more targeted traffic to the site.

Use case 3: Comparison Pages

Generate detailed comparison pages for products or services, helping users make informed decisions. Perfect for affiliate marketers or e-commerce sites, you can automatically create content that compares features, pricing, or benefits across multiple options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Notion a good choice for programmatic SEO?

Yes, if your website uses a website builder built on top of Notion (like Feather.so, Popsy.so, or Super.so), Notion can be a good choice for programmatic SEO. These builders allow you to leverage Notion databases to create content at scale, making it a flexible option for those looking to automate large-scale content creation.

Will it work if I use Notion sites directly?

No, this integration doesn’t work with Notion sites directly. Notion sites are more focused on turning individual Notion pages into a simple website. They’re great for static or personal sites but aren’t designed for creating and managing pages at scale like programmatic SEO requires.

Can I create complex layouts with Notion?

The layout design is typically handled by the website builder you’re using (e.g., Feather.so or Super.so). So while you can create and publish content at scale, the actual layout structure is determined by the builder. In that sense, yes, you’ll be able to publish content into pre-built templates for complex layouts.
